Nope. Not being senti here, I’m referring to accessories. Those little cute things that make your outfit complete. Like shoes, they do not discriminate. You can wear them on your most awesome day or your fattest day. I don’t leave the house without them. Makalimutan ko na cellphone ko wag lang burloloy ko. ūüôā

Now, here comes the conflict with my earlier statement. As much as I recognize their importance, accessories for me are like flings. They’re fun to be with and will not require you to commit. These babies will make you feel great about yourself but it’s no biggie if you lose them along the way. That’s why I don’t invest so much money on them. My shopping agenda does not always include accessories, it’s a nice to have but not necessarily a must have. It’s like that rack by the supermarket’s checkout counter. You’ve completed your grocery list but you can’t resist picking up those breath mints packed in that cute tin can or that Kitkat with an unusual flavor. You don’t need them but they make you smile so, why not?

My current flings:

stud earrings set of 3 for P75 only!

P100, not bad!

lock and key earrings for a lucky friend P25 lang!

¬†black “leather” ¬†with gold plate & grey “leather” with gold studs wrist bands ¬†for ¬†P200 ea.

knuckle rings less than P200!

etc. for Ph100-150.

Find all these by the cashier’s area at SAMPLE ROOM in Robinson’s Galleria.

Remember this?

If you’re an 80’s-90’s kid I’m sure you’ve seen this in your shower or¬†Reginas, Adam’s, Subic and PX stores near Broadway Centrum and Cash and Carry. This was always present in our balikbayan box, not sure if this was really in then but we always get this together with spam, corned beef, Irish Spring, Dial and other pasalubongs. Anyways, Jean Nate is an After Bath Splash, it has a sweet citrusy clean smell. It’s not my favorite scent but I do feel really fresh and energized after using it. ¬†Wala na ko makita na ganito and I’m sure if meron I will have to think more than twice on spending for this. And since I’m not a kikay person,¬†eto talaga¬†ay isang unnecessary buy for me.

Cut to, the other day while looking for the White Flower shelf in Mercury Drug I saw this:

Guys meet, RHEA AGUA COLONIA, pure fragrance (@ Ph49) — Jean Nate’s JEJE version.

Sabi sa packaging for a refreshing and soothing feeling after bath. My thought balloon: “Uy jumi-Jean Nate nga ang specs!” After getting a whiff of ¬†its scent instant flashback to my pre-teen days nung nagsimula na ang¬†hilig¬†ko pag shower ng matagal. Please note that this product does not exactly smell the same sa Jean Nate but is within the citrusy scent spectrum so you’ll still feel fresh and invigorated. From the makers of RHEA alcohol pa sya so I guess di naman at risk ang skin ko plus they have a website so I know which manufacturer to harass if ever I have a consumer complaint about the product.¬†¬†It costs less than Php50 so I didn’t have to think twice and bought it ¬†together with my other Lola purchases : White Flower, Katinko, Superscent Oil and Salonpas!

I tried this at home and it was ok.. Don’t mind the packaging pareho sya ng shape ng agua oxinada, label is ok lang, may vintage feel, the liquid is a bit thicker than Jean Nate and it does not dilute easily so parang may stain for a while when mixed with water. I did not apply it directly on my skin baka kasi mag stain sa clothes but it’s ok if you mix it with one tabo of H2O or spray it using an atomizer ¬†during you last stage in the shower. For Php 49 I’m not complaining.

So guys if you’re not brand conscious try nyo powz etoh! Jejeje….

I don’t know if you guys know this word but I grew up using this to refer to ABUBOT. ¬†I love abubots. I thank the Japanese guys for bringing in Saizen and Japan Home Center in Manila. I can spend hours and hours ¬†there just checking out the kuchi-kuchis.

Before the Saizens and Japan Home Centers of this world there’s REGINA’s gift shop. Regina’s is the original kuchi-kuchi haven in my book.

I grew up frequenting REGINA‘s gift shop in Greenhills. Since the time I learned how to cut classes¬†commute ¬†from school on my own, Greenhills has always been my instant go to place when I’m bored. Back in high school, I remember how I’d save up my weekly allowance to hoard on those quilted laura ashley-esque printed bags with matching wallet and clear transparent picture holders to hold our wallet sized photos from Belles Studio¬†(then we’d go to Greenlanes or sneak in Tia Marias after for pa-cute time/ boy watching). I had quite a collection then – of bags, not boys. It was also the go to place for those 500ml bottles of Nenuco, Denenes, S3 and Gotas De Oro colognes, Tiger Beat, scrunchies and trapper keepers (numa-90’s no?). Regina’s was my favorite shop then for my allowance can not afford to buy abubots at Gift Gate and Tickles all the time.

Cut to today, ayun may Regina’s pa rin and still marami pa rin finds…HAPPINESS!

Check out my loot from Regina’s

My son has bad sleeping habits. We usually sleep late… We go to bed around 10PM then SLEEP around 4AM. Malas ko lang his dad is a deep sleeper so who ends up awake with my son? Sino pa ba???

Okay lang if we’re in bed from 10-4am but noooooo! Dylans like to run around the room and tinker with my things so I can’t just let ¬†him be. Finally, I found a solution that will make him stay still and behave til he falls asleep.

Introducing… the disco ball! The lights have this hypnotic vibe that makes him stop and relax then a few minutes after ayun tulog na sya! I love this thing and it only costs 240 bucks at Regina’s. ūüôā

See how my Dylan’s drawn to the light.

A few more minutes and it’s bedtime.

My title says Irresistible TempatationS¬†— take note of the ¬†S. ¬†So here’s part 2 of the story…

I felt so guilty after my JC 99 purchase so I decided to do some walking to convince myself I did the right thing. Entered Primadonna shoe shop to try their boots to prove how worth it my new buy was. Mine had better quality, height.. blah blah blah.

Feeling better, on my way out the store my eye caught these open-toe ¬†Ann Demeulmeester-esque ¬†sandal boots similar to Jane Alridge’s pair in¬†Sea of Shoes.

It’s not the same as the real thing but it felt good when i tried them on. ¬†So guess what happened next?

In summary:

Went to SM’s Fashion Forum to see ¬†the¬†Jeffrey Campbell pairs for myself. I’m amazed at how everyone I see online are raving¬†about this brand. When i saw the famous FOXYs and LITAS, ¬†I was star strucked by their ¬†awesomeness ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ( I swear, para akong nakakita ng celebs!) but intimidated by their height.

Good luck ¬†if I can carry those. I know it’s gonna be the most impractical buy. That’s why I was so proud of myself for saying “Pass!” to those lovely pairs. (Besides, medyo di na sila age appropriate for me.) My proud moment did not last 5 minutes though for I saw the JC 99 Tie in one quiet corner.

I tried to ignore them but my conscience reminded me that it has all the qualities of my current shoe obsession: wedge, laces, height, leather…. shuuuucks! ¬†I told the sales person that I needed time to think about it, if I come back then that means I really want it. Guess what? Never left the area. Went straight to the counter right after I tried them on. I’m a 9 and the last pair was an 8. I slipped my foot in and like Cinderella, the pair was a perfect fit ¬† ¬†— MFEO! Ayun off to the counter… installment please! I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL.
